New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced an interagency task force to help protect nail salon workers Sunday night, following a two-part New York Times investigation about widespread abuse and mistreatment in the industry. Under the new safety measures, manicurists will be required to wear gloves when working on customers, and salons will have to be ventilated and offer facial masks.
