The Daily Beast has been blocked in Russia, according to reports on the Russian site Meduza. The ban is apparently over an article on online pot marketplaces, Meduza reports, relying on an unofficial site that claims to pull information on banned sites from official databases. The article that allegedly triggered the Russian authorities’ interest was published in 2013, but the supposed decision to ban The Beast was made April 21 of this year. There has been no official confirmation of the ban, and some in Russia report continued access to the site. The Daily Beast is investigating the matter.
