Dan Brown Bashing

BACKLASH

Everyone’s hating on The Da Vinci Code.

Is it just jealousy? Maybe so, but bestselling author Jodi Picoult is talking serious smack about the even more-best selling author, Dan Brown. “I don't understand the hype over such a poorly written novel—and as an author who does all her own research, I know better than to consider myself an expert in the field I am writing about,” Picoult said of The Da Vinci Code author. And she isn’t the only one fueling the fire—in 2005, Salman Rushdie called it “a novel so bad it gives bad novels a bad name.” He added, graciously, “Even Dan Brown must live. Preferably not write, but live.”
