Women are taking over the tracks. On Sunday, Danica Patrick became the first woman to win the Daytona 500 pole to qualify for the iconic race. She posted an impressive lap speed of 196.434mph. “I'm proud of all the hard work that goes into making a pole car,” Patrick said afterward. “I'm happy for them [the team]. It was a fast Chevy.” She even beat Jeff Gordon, who congratulated her, saying, “It's great to be part of history. I can say I was the fastest guy today.” The Daytona 500 is next Sunday, and all drivers except Patrick and Gordon will still have their spots determined this week.
