Maybe her prison pen pal will romance her? Kristy Watts, Danielle Steel's former assistant, has been sentenced to two years and nine months in the federal poky and 400 hours of community service for stealing $768,000 from the romance novelist, largely by manipulating her accounts, according to The San Francisco Chronicle. Watts said that "envy and jealousy" of Steel, plus greed, motivated the theft. Watts worked for Steel for 15 years, using Steel's online payroll to pay herself extra, using Steel's credit-card reward points for gifts and airfare for herself and her family, and depositing checks made out to "cash" in her own account.
