David Rockefeller, the former head of Chase Manhattan bank, has died at 101, his family confirmed Monday. Rockefeller, a grandson of the oil magnate John D. Rockefeller, was the face of Chase bank for decades, serving as chairman and CEO in the 1970s. A member of the wealthy Rockefeller family, he was renowned for his philanthropy and his extensive art collection. He was found dead Monday morning in his Pocantico Hills, New York home.
