A 52-year-old woman accused of slashing several babies and adults during a stabbing spree at an illegal Queens daycare earlier this month says she confused the babies with wolves. “I don’t know why I did such a thing or what I was thinking about,” Yu Fen Wang, a Chinese immigrant, told the New York Daily News from Rikers Island. “At the moment, I thought they were not babies, but wolves. So I slashed,” she was quoted as saying. Wang, who faces five counts of attempted murder for the Sept. 20 rampage, is reportedly on suicide watch following the alleged attack. “I hope [the babies] didn’t get hurt. I hope they are OK,” she said, later adding, “I can’t live anymore.” Wang’s alleged stabbing spree at the unlicensed Mei Xin Care Inc. facility sent a 12-day-old, a 32-day-old, and a 33-day-old to the hospital in critical condition. A fourth baby also suffered a skull fracture, and two adults were also injured in the attack.
