Washington, D.C. is preparing to welcome the great and good ahead of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20. In a bid to cater to attendees with deep pockets, hotels in the capital are rolling out eye-wateringly expensive luxury packages. The Fairmont near Georgetown is offering one of the priciest at $350,000, according to Axios. It includes round-trip airfare for four people (and their pets) from anywhere in the U.S., as well as four nights in a new suite. If that wasn’t enough, customers will also be served by two butlers and will go on a Saks 5th Avenue shopping spree for $25,000 worth of goods. And, of course, the guest gets a special cocktail named after them for the weekend. Meanwhile, The Watergate’s “Head of State Package” costs a comparatively meagre $73,500 and includes a return journey, via helicopter, from New York City to Reagan National. Buyers will also be treated to a tour of the so-called “Scandal Suite,” the scene of the 1972 break-in which eventually led to the downfall of former President Richard Nixon. What better way to mark the start of Trump’s second term?
