Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser announced Friday a ban on government employee travel to North Carolina, in response to the state's new anti-LGBT law. The move comes after the states of New York and Connecticut, and the cities of San Francisco and Boston did the same. "I signed an order banning travel to NC for DC Gov employees. We stand w/ the LGBTQ community & against discrimination," Bowser tweeted on Friday. North Carolina's Gov. Pat McCrory signed into law last week a measure that requires transgender people to use public restroom facilities that correspond with their gender assigned at birth. The legislation also prevents local ordinances protecting LGBT people from discrimination.
