De Blasio & Lhota Lead NYC Primary

Republican Joe Lhota has won the Republican primary for New York mayor. On the Democrats' side, Bill de Blasio is leading his opponents and appears to be on the brink of avoiding a run-off. De Blasio needs 40 percent to wrap it up, and is currently hovering around 39 percent—well in front of Bill Thompson (who warned his supporters that the race was "far from over") and erstwhile frontrunner Christine Quinn. Running as a progressive touting a "tale of two cities," de Blasio would be a clear favorite to win the general election against Lhota.
