Mets fans at Citi Field did not take kindly to New York Mayor Bill de Blasio’s appearance on the mound Monday for the season opener. As soon as his name was announced, the crowd in Flushing gave hizzoner “Bronx cheers.” Some Mets fans said de Blasio shouldn’t take it personally. “I think they just booed because he’s the mayor,” Robin Junicic said. “They would have booed for any political figure.”
