Robert De Niro has spoken for the first time since he was targeted by a pipe bomb “identical” to those that have been delivered to prominent opponents of Donald Trump this week. In a written statement, the actor said voting is more powerful than bombs will ever be. He also paid tribute to the authorities who have prevented anyone from being hurt by the series of bombs delivered to Trump’s opponents including Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Joe Biden. “I thank God no one's been hurt, and I thank the brave and resourceful security and law enforcement people for protecting us,” said De Niro, adding: “There's something more powerful than bombs, and that's your vote. People MUST vote!” De Niro, an outspoken Trump critic, was sent a package at his New York City building. It was examined by the NYPD before being safely removed.
