Police in Fox Lake, Illinois, are investigating the wife and son of an officer who shot and killed himself in a “carefully staged suicide” as part of an attempt to cover up his misdeeds, sources told the Chicago Sun-Times on Wednesday. According to police findings, Lt. Charles Joseph Gliniewicz’s was “stealing and laundering money from the Fox Lake Explorers program,” and reportedly implicated his wife and son by revealing details to them about his scheme, the Sun-Times reports.
