So far, 55 troops have been killed in Afghanistan, including three helicopter crashes on Monday and multiple bombings on Tuesday. This month has also seen an increase in political tension over strategy in Afghanistan, as President Obama weighs a request from General Stanley McChrystal for thousands more troops--and for the first time, a U.S. official stepped down in protest of the war. “My resignation is based not upon how we are pursuing this war, but why and to what end," said Matthew Hoh, a former marine captain who served in Afghanistan and Iraq.
