Non-jihadi extremists have killed more Americans than radical Muslims since the 9/11 attacks, according to a report published by the New America Foundation. A breakdown puts the death toll of non-Muslim attackers at 48 after the Charleston shooting, while jihadis have killed 26 Americans in the last 14 years. Many attacks in the former category have been carried out by white supremacists, including the Sikh temple shooting in 2012.
