The road where a limo crashed Sunday killing 20 people—America's deadliest car crash in nine years—is a known hazard which locals have campaigned to fix for years, the Associated Press reports. A white stretch limo was filled with friends on their way to a birthday party in upstate New York when it barrelled down a hill, failed to stop at a T-junction, and rammed into an unoccupied SUV. Two sets of newlyweds and four sisters are believed to be among the victims. A manager of the store that sits at the intersection where the accident happened said it's a known danger spot that has long worried locals. It was redone in 2008 because of a fatal accident there but there have been multiple incidents since. “More accidents than I can count,” said Jessica Kirby, managing director of the Apple Barrel Country Store. “We have been asking for something to be done for years.”
