One person was confirmed dead and several others were injured during a stabbing attack in a high school near Houston on Wednesday, according to Harris County sheriff's officers. Spring High School was put on lockdown immediately as law enforcement rushed to the scene. The school sent an email to parents stating that "based on a preliminary report, a fight occurred this morning in the cafeteria. There has been one fatality and three students have been transported to hospitals with injuries. All other students are safe in their classrooms and will remain there while the investigation continues." Three persons of interest have been taken into custody and investigators are interviewing them, Sheriff Adrian Garcia said at a news conference.
