A freshman Democratic lawmaker said Thursday that her sex tape was stolen and leaked online. Stacey Plaskett, the Virgin Islands’ non-voting representative in Congress, blamed the incident on her political opponents. “The theft and distribution of these personal images via the internet marks a new low in Virgin Islands politics,” she said in a statement, acknowledging that private family photographs and a “playful” video posted online were in fact hers. “I am shocked and deeply saddened that someone would stoop to such a level as to invade my marriage and the love of my family in an attempt to besmirch me politically.” The FBI and U.S. Capitol Police are investigating the incident.
