Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND) was not pleased when Hillary Clinton was back in the news again recently, telling a radio host that it’s long overdue for the former secretary of state to leave the U.S. political scene. “Not soon enough,” Heitkamp told her brother, KFGO radio host Joel Heitkamp, when asked when Clinton will “ride off into the sunset.” The comments were in response to Clinton’s remarks at a recent speech, during which she said she won the parts of America that are “optimistic, diverse, dynamic, moving forward,” while President Donald Trump was “looking backwards.” Heitkamp, who backed Clinton strongly in 2016, agreed with the host when he said Clinton was “bashing the middle of the country and my state again.” Trump won Heitkamp’s state in 2016, and the senator faces a tough re-election fight this year.
