President Obama isn’t completely toxic for Democratic politicians: Tuesday night Democrat Earl Ray Tomblin won the governorship of West Virginia despite attacks from Republicans linking him to Obama. Tomblin has been acting governor since Joe Manchin stepped down to serve in the Senate last fall. The Republican candidate, drilling executive Bill Maloney, battled back from a nearly 30-point hole to lose by just 47 to 49.6 percent. Republicans outspent Democrats nearly 2 to 1 on the race.
