Richard Madaleno, a Democrat running for governor in Maryland, aired an ad on Fox and Friends Thursday morning featuring the first same-sex kiss in a political ad, according to Victory Fund. The ad for the “progressive” candidate ended with him kissing his husband, Mark Hodge, on the front lawn of his home, and ran during Fox and Friends’ airtime in the Washington area. Fox News’ morning show happens to be a favorite of President Trump’s. “What’s the No. 1 way I piss off Donald Trump and the Republicans?” Madaleno asks in the ad before kissing Hodge on the lips. “Take that, Trump.” Madaleno said in a statement, “June is LGBT Pride Month and I couldn’t think of a better time to release this ad. I am proud of my family, proud of my record of standing up for our progressive values and proud to be unflinching in standing up against hate. Love does truly trump hate.”
