The Democratic Party’s 2016 platform will not include opposition to the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade pact. At the party's platform panel in Orlando on Saturday, supporters of Hillary Clinton blocked such an effort, while approving of Sanders’ call for a $15 federally-mandated minimum wage. Sanders has long opposed the TPP and other trade deals, contending that they adversely affect working Americans by eliminating jobs.
