President Obama is near a deal with Republicans to temporarily extend all of the Bush tax cuts for two years in exchange for their votes on unemployment insurance. Expect them to last longer than that, though, unless you think Obama will muster the courage to make a stand on the issue in election season 2012. Democrats aren’t going to go along with the deal quietly. "We're only moving there against my judgment and my own particular view of things,” Senate Whip Dick Durbin said Sunday.
