Australian authorities on Thursday charged actress Amber Heard, who is married to Johnny Depp, with illegally importing the couple’s dogs in May. Heard faces two counts of illegally importing her Yorkshire terriers, Pistol and Boo, and one count of producing a false document. The couple reportedly smuggled the animals aboard their private jet to the country before Depp resumed filming the fifth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean series. The charges carry a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and fines of more than $74,000. The charges come two months after Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce called for the dogs to leave the country or face death. Heard is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 7.
