A man in southwestern Michigan was shot and killed on Saturday while trying to stop another man from kicking his neighbor's dog. The man, 53-year-old David Kriger, was shot in the chest in Benton Township, near Grand Rapids. Roy Thompson, the suspect involved, faces murder and weapons charges.
