Young-adult adaptation Divergent won the weekend North American box office with a $56 million haul. Despite bad reviews, the teen sci-fi film starring Shailene Woodley was powered by an A rating by moviegoers on CinemaScore. Coming in No. 2 with only $16.5 million was Muppets Most Wanted, which raked in less than half of its predecessor in 2011. Mr. Peabody & Sherman fell from the top spot to No. 3 with $11.7 million.
