After a lengthy primary process followed by a truly surreal 2016 Republican National Convention, it’s the Democratic Party’s turn to officially nominate their candidate for president.
The 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia will begin Monday, July 25 and last until Thursday, July 28. The DNC will feature an array of caucuses at the Pennsylvania Convention Center and dozens of speeches at the Wells Fargo Center.
Eventually, delegates of the Democratic Party will convene to nominate presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton for president, along with her vice presidential pick, Virginia Senator Tim Kaine.
Each day will have a slew of speeches from politicians, celebrities, activists and American citizens. In addition, the party will announce its official platform at the convention.
The DNC officially begins on Monday at 4 p.m. ET. The day’s theme will be “United Together.” Vermont Senator and Clinton primary rival Bernie Sanders will headline the first night of the convention, along with First Lady Michelle Obama and Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA).
On Tuesday, DNC day two will kick off at 4:30 p.m. ET with the theme "A Lifetime of Fighting for Children and Families." The keynote speaker will be former President Bill Clinton. Additionally, The roll call vote to officially nominate Hillary Clinton will begin Tuesday.
All major cable news networks will be covering the event. Twitter and Facebook will be livestreaming digital feeds of the convention, via CBS and ABC, respectively. You can also watch the convention live on the DNC’s official website.
