For all the hoopla over the word "God" in the Democratic platform, this may be more interesting. New York’s archbishop, Timothy Cardinal Dolan, closed the Democratic National Convention on Thursday night with a prayer that some thought had an anti-abortion message. “Thus do we praise you for the gift of life. Grant us to defend it. Life, without which no other rights are secure. We ask your benediction on those waiting to be born, that they may be welcomed and protected,” Dolan prayed, just after Obama's speech. Dolan delivered a similar prayer in Tampa at the Republican National Convention.
