Swedish authorities have charged a doctor with rape and kidnapping after he admitted he fed a woman Rohypnol-laced strawberries and locked her in a concrete bunker where he intended to keep her. The 38-year-old doctor, who has not been named per Swedish privacy laws, wanted a girlfriend, according to his defense lawyer.
The plot unraveled, however, when the doctor took the woman to a Stockholm police station to prove that she was alright and not missing, as police suspected. Police took the woman aside and she told them she had been kidnapped. "He never meant to hurt anyone," the doctor's defense lawyer said.
