Dr. Bennet Omalu defended his family-commissioned autopsy of Stephon Clark, an unarmed black man killed by police, after the county coroner’s office called it “erroneous” in its own report released this week. The coroner’s office stated on Wednesday that Clark was shot in the back three times, not six times, as Omalu claimed. According to The Sacramento Bee, Omalu released a photo of Clark’s back, which he says corroborates his findings. “Experts may have different opinions, but a picture is a picture,” Omalu wrote in a letter. “A picture does not have an opinion.” Omalu said he stands “firmly in defense of my independent autopsy.”
