Several hundred pages of National Security Agency information obtained by Vice News reveal that, despite the federal agency's initial claims, Edward Snowden did attempt to raise concerns about surveillance and privacy prior to leaking internal documents. As part of the public-relations response to the Snowden leaks, the NSA initially released an email from the ex-contractor and claimed it showed he “did not raise allegations or concerns about wrongdoing or abuse.” As it turns out, colleagues recalled discussing constitutional concerns with Snowden while he was a private contractor for the agency; and internal NSA emails show that he raised flags about other training programs’ constitutionality.
