Al Gore puts his money where his mouth is by funding green energy companies through his Silicon Valley venture capital firm, but when the former vice president has profited from government policies that he supports, he's drawn catcalls from opponents. Just last week, a Gore-supported company earned $560 million when the Energy Department announced its commitment to smart grid technology. “Do you think there is something wrong with being active in business in this country?” Gore said to The New York Times. “I am proud of it. I am proud of it.”
