Authorities in Gambia Tuesday busted a dozen local traffickers and seized nearly two tons of cocaine, worth nearly $1 billion, and large quantities of cash. The Serious Organized Crime Agency, Britain's FBI, helped local authorities find the drugs, which were bound for Europe. West Africa has become a key stop between Latin America and Europe for drugs, due to the region's poverty and feeble judicial systems. Authorities said this bust uncovered computer records that they hope will help find other traffickers. "We're excited about this one," an investigator said. "[W]e've got all the elements here."
