A Lakewood Church employee and off-duty sheriff’s deputy reported up to $600,000 missing from the megachurch of televangelist Joel Osteen. The money, which included $200,000 in cash, and $400,000 in checks and written credit-card information, was from weekend contributions and was not a data breach. The church has more than 40,000 attendees on an average weekend, and is housed in the former Houston Rockets stadium.
