News that President Donald Trump will be attending Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans this year apparently hasn’t done much for ticket prices, which have dropped below $4,000 on reseller websites. The cheapest ticket on TickPick is going for just over $3,600—that’s more than a 50 percent drop compared to last year’s event, according to The U.S. Sun. TickPick CEO Brett Goldberg said the location of this year’s event might be a factor in tanking prices. New Orleans “doesn’t have the same appeal” as Las Vegas. Hotel rooms are also going for extortionate prices, driving potential attendees away. “When you see upwards of $2,000 a night for a hotel room that normally goes for $198, that’s insanity,” TicketManager CEO and cofounder Tony Knopp told Front Office Sports. Trump will be the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl when he watches the game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
