Michael Douglas's son, Cameron, who is serving nine and a half years in prison for drug violations, wrote a personal essay for the Huffington Post on what he calls America's "outdated" drug policy. The 34-year-old actor, first convicted in 2010 of selling methamphetamine, focuses on how the system's approach "pays little concern to the disease of addiction." Rather than jail time, Douglas believes treatment would be far more productive. He does, however, understand there are consequences. "I'm not saying that I didn't deserve to be punished, or that I'm worthy of special treatment ... However, I seem to be trapped," he said.
