On "woefully low" consumer confidence.

The U.S. stock market saw a steep decline on Tuesday, on the heels of drops in both the European and Asian markets. Concerns over global economic growth prompted a chain of sell-offs. Stocks in Shanghai began to fall, leading to a domino effect of decline afterward, with Europe and the U.S. seeing drops. The Dow fell by 268.22 points, or 2.7 percent, to 9870.30, while the Nasdaq composite index was down 3.9 percent. Financial analysts see this as a continuation of recent months and consumer confidence is “woefully low.”
