The Dow Jones is continuing to decline in the wake of the disaster in Japan. The Dow index dropped more than 200 points by midday Tuesday, with General Electric shares dropping 4.2 percent amid anxiety over the company's involvement in designing the reactors at Japan’s Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant. Insurance companies are also wary about the rising costs in Japan, with Aflac dropping 9.8 percent and Hartford Financial falling 7.9 percent. The slip on Wall Street follows market tumbles in Europe and Asia.
