The Dow Jones Industrial Average had an uneven start to the trading day Wednesday, the night after Donald Trump was elected president in a surprise victory. After initial signs pointed to Trump being elected president Tuesday night, stock futures plummeted with Dow futures down more than 800 points. However, at the start of trading Wednesday, the Dow ticked up a hair. Additionally, the Mexican peso was down 8.5 percent against the U.S. dollar overnight, and gold futures ticked up 3 percent.
