Meanwhile, Netflix shares dropped 35 percent following the news Monday that the movie-rental company had lost 810,000 subscribers between the second and third quarters. The company was set to open at its lowest levels since March of last year. Netflix wasn't the only tech company hurting: Amazon's quarterly profit fell a dizzying 73 percent after it spent heavily on its tablet.
