At least 41 people were killed Friday after a blaze tore through a hospital for the elderly in South Korea, the Yonhap news agency reports. Authorities said at least 81 people were injured in the fire, several of them critically. Fire officials in the city of Miryang said it took nearly three hours to contain the flames after the fire erupted on the first floor emergency room of the Sejong Hospital, which contains both a nursing hospital for the elderly and an area for regular medical care. No further details have been released on the victims, many of whom reportedly died en route to other nearby hospitals. Authorities have opened an investigation into the cause of the fire.
