So much for a quiet retirement. Shortly after returning to Paris after sexual-assault charges were dropped against him in New York, former IMF head Dominique Strauss-Kahn has found himself linked in a French prostitution scandal. Le Monde reports that a senior French police officer went twice to Washington, D.C., last year to accompany women on their way to Strauss-Kahn. He is said to have received three visits from the group, the last on the day before he was arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a hotel maid. This week two other French publications released text messages allegedly sent by Strauss-Kahn to a businessman involved in the Hotel Carlton case that are believed to refer to prostitution.
