Tim Burton’s reimagined live-action Dumbo topped the box office this weekend, but still earned less than expected, Variety reports Sunday. The film grossed $45 million, falling below the expected $50 million and far below the earnings of other recent Disney live-action remakes, including Beauty and the Beast ($174 million) and The Jungle Book ($103 million). The film cost approximately $170 million to make, Variety reports. Jordan Peele’s Us, which broke a number of records last week, earned second place; Captain Marvel took third.
