Bob Dylan is moving mediums to, as he once sang, “paint his masterpiece.” In fall 2010, the Statens Museum for Kunst in Copenhagen, will display nearly 100 of Dylan’s paintings. The exhibition will include paintings from his “Drawn Blank” series as well as 30 acrylic paintings from Dylan’s “Brazil” series premiering at the show. Statens’ chief curator, Kasper Monrad, believes the singer is due for his own art exhibition, exhibiting his creativity beyond the stage and onto the canvas. “Bob Dylan’s visual artistic practice has only been discussed by art historians to a limited extent,” Monrad said. “Critical examination and interpretation are called for.”
