Ed Filipowski, a co-chairman of dynamo fashion public relations agency KCD, died at 58, The Business of Fashion reports. The Pittsburg-born PR executive was known for promoting and advising up-and-coming designers like Tom Ford, John Galliano, and Donatella Versace. Filipowski began his career in the mid-1980s, and helped grow KCD into the international mainstay it is today. Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour said, “Anyone who ever had the privilege of working with Ed knew he was far more than a particularly brilliant public relations executive. Thanks to his terrific sense of loyalty, he was always able to make kindness and respect central to every single thing he did.” According to BOF, Filipowski had been recovering from surgery at the time of his death.
