Are we due for an Eddie Murphy renaissance? Deadline Hollywood reports that Murphy is in talks with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences to host the 84th Oscar Awards. Brett Ratner, who is producing the awards show, is pushing heavily for Murphy, who is “showing interest.” Ratner also directed Murphy in the upcoming film Tower Heist, which opens Nov. 4.
