Pro-Palestinian protesters mark Israel's anniversary.

Egyptian authorities arrested at least 186 pro-Palestinian protesters late on Sunday outside the Israeli Embassy near Cairo. Clashes between police and demonstrators—who were charged with sabotage, rioting, and destruction of public facilities—left some 353 people injured, with many suffering from inhaling tear gas that authorities set off to disperse crowds. Calls for marching into Israel on the anniversary of its founding started on Facebook and prompted the defiant Palestinian demonstrations outside the embassy. On Sunday, thousands of pro-Palestinians from Syria, Lebanon, and Gaza crossed into Israel and caused bloodshed on its border.
