In what is being taken as a possible sign of easing tensions, Egypt opened its border with Gaza for the first time in three months on Saturday, allowing Palestinians to travel to and from the Gaza Strip. The Rafah crossing has stayed mostly closed since Egypt’s Islamist president, Mohamed Morsi, was deposed by the military in 2013. It opened again two weeks ago but only in one direction, allowing Palestinians stranded outside Gaza to return home.
