According to Egyptian investigators’ analysis of the black box recordings recovered from EgyptAir flight 804, which crashed into Mediterranean Sea in May, there was smoke on-board the plane before it disappeared. Additionally, the aircraft itself had heat damage. All 66 people aboard the Cairo-bound flight from Paris perished in the incident. It is thus far unknown what caused the plane to go down.
