Looks like Egypt will soon be implimenting its disputed constitution. Preliminary results released by the Muslim Brotherhood show more that a total of 70 percent voted in favor of the consitution draft between voting last week and on Saturday. The results show there was a turnout of about 30 percent for this second round, which covered rural areas with more Islamist sympathizers. Rights groups in the country reported some violations, including illegal campaigning by Islamists, irregularities in registrations, and late-opening poll stations. Also on Saturday, Egyptian Vice President Mahmoud Mekky resigned from his post, citing the likely elimination of the office under the country’s potential new Constitution.
